Clear Downed Trees at Heath Hen Meadow

April 8, 2018 @ 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Those March snowstorms have dropped a lot of trees and branches in Acton. Please join me on Sunday April 8 at 2PM for a volunteer cleanup work party at Heath Hen Meadow Conservation Land. We will first clear the trails going left from the Robbins Street kiosk, then do the meadows to the right. We will generate firewood you can take home. I will bring a cart to haul it to the street. It is possible to drive into the meadows, but don’t because you might get stuck!

Please bring work gloves, clothes that can get dirty, and wear boots appropriate for mud.  Good tools to bring would be pruning saws, bow saws and loppers. If someone has the throw ropes and skills to pull down stuck branches, that would be nice. Please do not bring your chainsaw unless you have taken the town’s required a safety class.

Meet at the trail head at the end of Robbins Street. Send me an email if you are coming so I know how many to expect.

Thanks,

Joe Holmes
